My apologies to the oversexed fiddle back. I especially like the bit...Great comments, SteveO! I especially like the bit about clergy leading by example. Boy can I tell horror stories of incompetent clergy trying to lead by order, as you know.

Paula, Mary Did You Know isn't really the best song for the Roman liturgy, if the musicians want to stay within the boundaries of the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception. There's that line in there about "the child you will deliver will soon deliver YOU". According to Roman teaching, Mary didn't need deliverence....minor point, I'm sure, but it sort of undermines all that apologetic BS folks have to hear every time a lanky, oversexed fiddle bank mounts the pulpit.

Oh, and this is the Armchair Snark, by the way. Although the one we did was the more difficult, we can still teach the easier chant to our kids today!!!! At least I haven't had to do battle with Gentile Woman....Steve Ohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01498458620860783062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7002745.post-70478188260575832822009-12-20T14:18:13.040-05:002009-12-20T14:18:13.040-05:00I've always been amazed by the stupidity of ad...I've always been amazed by the stupidity of adults. They really think that children TOTALLY buy into crap that's meant only to be a momentary baby sitter to cover the time not prepared for by the adult in charge.....Steve Ohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01498458620860783062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7002745.post-16000437590916575352009-12-19T12:04:02.209-05:002009-12-19T12:04:02.209-05:00Ah yes, "Liturgical Itsy-Bitsy Spider," ...Ah yes, "Liturgical Itsy-Bitsy Spider," I call it.

Complete non sequitur, do you think you could post on this?
Petition for the speedy implementation of the new translation

(Save the Liturgy, Save the World)Scelatahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08674226359189392827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7002745.post-69226891355892347842009-12-18T09:42:19.452-05:002009-12-18T09:42:19.452-05:00Why do these priests/music directors/religious ed ...Why do these priests/music directors/religious ed coordinators do this to the kids????????

For the Immaculate Conception, my kids had school Mass. I asked my sons what hymns were sung. The usual, Immaculate Mary, Sing of Mary, but the Communion hymn was "Mary did you know". You know, the Kenny Rodgers Christmas song they play on the radio? Grrr

PS, this is PaulaB52, I'm just able to post under my wordpress name now. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
