Brace Yourselves......

Gerald posted THIS.

He properly titled his post, "My Eyes! My Eyes!"

A tabernacle that looks like a Go'a'uld attack vessel from Stargate SG-1, and a traffic light for a sanctuary lamp.

INSTANT HIGH ALTAR

Here's what happens when the FSSP visits a parish church with a modern style table altar. This is one of the coolest transformations I've seen, albeit only temporary. This was very likely taken in France.
Red Sox cap tip to Shawn at NLM.

Enjoy!

OUR NEW BLESSED SACRAMENT ALTAR

Our new altar to the Blessed Sacrament, which houses the Tabernacle, and rightly located behind the main altar. This is the altar that was blessed by Bishop Tobin last week.
Here are some more pictures at the Holy Ghost parish site. BTW, these two pictures came from there as well.

The inscription up top: Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus. Click on either of these for a bigger, clearer picture.

Not too many 1987-built sanctuaries look this good. Of course, most of the improvements are very recent (like, since Fr. Finelli's arrival in 2002). Last fall, the hanging sanctuary lamp and large crucifix were added. The numberboards came in January 2005.

Bishop Tobin's homily and blessing of the new altar, as well as the Mozart Ave Verum as performed by the Holy Ghost Choir, can be heard on Fr. Finelli's iPadre Catholic Podcast, episode #16.

Peace,
BMP
