FANS OF THE iSNARK! (New Page)

Cross-posting with the iSNARK! Media feed page

To all viewers, listeners, readers, etc.

For the past few years, a flock of eighty-some strong came over and joined us at Fans of the iSNARK! at Facebook. Many of you hung around, even during my hiatus of just over a year. For that, I say, THANK YOU!

Since Facebook updated the group site, there is no longer a way to invite people to join the group. Just simply add people from your friends list and they're in. But what if you have friends that don't want to be in our little group? Add them, and they're in. But those friends might get just a bit PO'd. Some to the point of not just leaving your group, but by leaving your friends list. And I for one am not good at holding hostages!

For that reason, I created a new group site on Facebook, titled (for now) The NEW Fans of the iSNARK! Page. This is going to be the new iSNARK! page for Facebook. With this group site, it is YOUR call whether or not you would like to "Like" the page. That gets you in - at your will, not mine. OF COURSE: I'd LOVE for you to go to the page and "Like" it (hitting the "Like" button. But at least it will be your will.

So please, if you joined us at one point on the old "Fans of the iSNARK!" page (formerly "Fans of Christus Vincit ANYWHERE!", btw), or would like to join, simply go to the new site and hit the "Like" button. Thank you much for your support!

Peace,
BMP

PS:

(pretty please!)

HOW TO GET YOUR WHOLE FAMILY DELETED

from a Facebook friends list

Simply put up a positive statement on your wall endorsing the candidate of your choice (in my case, Scott Brown), and just watch the fan get splattered with doo-doo, ca-ca, poo-poo, and good old number two.

I put up a positive statement on my wall simply stating that a vote for Scott Brown would be some hope for our country as we know it. Then, a "family friend" (on my wife's side) chimed in with the "sorry, Brian, I voted for Martha", and gave her "reasons" for doing so. I then stated what Coakley had said about doctors who don't believe in abortion shouldn't be in the medical profession, and politely asked her, "Can we afford to have any more sickos like that running our country?"

This woman then started flying off the handle at me and my old friend from high school, who also chimed in (politely, mind you) on behalf of Brown, even as far as getting into my personal affairs (remember, she's friends with my in-laws). She even went as far as posting on her wall about how she's going through a lot of "grief" over her political choices. She created her own grief by flying off the handle on, not her wall, but my wall. Needless to say, in the end, she deleted me (no loss), my wife (who said hardly anything), and my two younger kids (who were in school, so they never got a chance to say anything). If she's going to be childish over a lousy political opinion, then so be it. With over 220 friends on my Facebook profile, one isn't going to make a freakin' difference.

I'll tell you what --- if you're on my friends list, go ahead and read my wall. The proof is there that when one supports a nutcase's case, they act out of desperation. I thought my friends, my wife, and myself were quite rational.

Peace,
BMP

ATTENTION ALL REAL CATHOLICS

I hereby join our English friends Damian Thompson and Fr. Tim Finigan in urging all orthodox Catholics in joining the latest Facebook craze, the Tablet Appreciation Society. Enough support from REAL Catholics might just help restore the Tablet (often referred to as the "Bitter Pill") to its original beauty - kind of like having Duncan Stroik restore a Dick Vosko wreckovation to its original beauty.

APOLOGY AND WARNING TO ALL MY FACEBOOK FRIENDS

This morning, a gentleman amongst the laity posted an offensive pornographic image to my "fun wall" application on Facebook unsolicited. The man has been on my friends list for about a month or so, and is a fellow musician.

Unfortunately, the post was to be deleted, but may have gotten forwarded to any and all people on my friends list that has the "fun wall" application. For those who have received the image in question, please accept my sincere apology and my assurances that this forwarding was in error. I'm hoping the sender's error was in the same sense (sending to me by accident, that is, and not simply realizing that the image was sent thinking that I have a "sense of humor"). I do have a sense of humor, but that sense of humor isn't one that would intentionally send a smutty cartoon to an entire friends list when most of said friends list will indeed be offended.

I ask all of my friends on Facebook to please be very careful as to what is posted to my wall, fun wall, or whatever wall. I know that many would not post such crap to begin with, but I feel the need to warn those who would. Any future postings of such WILL result in that poster's removal from my friends list. The warning has been posted on my wall, as well as the wall of the Fans of Christus Vincit Anywhere group site, also on Facebook. I don't need it. My wife and my son in his 20's are also Facebook members. They don't need it either. Both know that I like to keep the page "Catholic-oriented". I would like to keep it that way.

Again, I apologize if anyone has received the image in question (I don't think I need to describe it in the open - TMI). Please be assured that it WAS an error.

Peace,
BMP

SACRED MUSIC AND LITURGY
TAKES FACEBOOK BY STORM!

I've gotten into a few really cool groups on Facebook over the past week, in addition to Fans of CVA, all Catholic liturgy-, music-, and even architecture-related.

I'm Fed Up with Bad Church Music (I'd call this a viable sequel to the famous Moratorium, with OVER 1200 MEMBERS - WOW!)
SQPN
Rosary Army Soldiers (a fan club similar to ours, but for Rosary Army)
CMAA
Catholics Against Un-Sacred Architecture (The title picture is a true example: the TajMahony, er, LA Cathedral)
Supporters of Benedict XVI and Catholic Orthodoxy

If you haven't gotten into any of these groups yet, I encourage you to click on any of the above links and join up.

Peace,
BMP

THE FACEBOOK SONG

First of all, welcome and thank you to all who have joined me at Facebook. We've got fellow bloggers, a fellow podcaster, some RPInet friends, plus my wife, and even someone that plays cribbage on the web with my wife and me.

A while back I had subscribed to Tommy Hewitt Jones on YouTube (till he closed his dang account - grrrrr!). Tommy, who now professionally goes as Thomas Hewitt Jones, is a "contemporary classical" composer from the UK, educated at Cambridge University. His YouTube videos consisted of a couple of really super wicked free accompaniments for organ that he did at a church service (one on CWM RHONDDA, the other on WAS LEBET, WAS SCHWABET), a Victor Borge-like duet he did with a friend playing the famous Widor V (also on organ), a really funny jingle about Brian Jordan, a music store owner in his neck of the woods, and this really funny song about Facebook that he co-wrote while at Cambridge. Check it out.
