Jeff Miller at The Curt Jester and Amy Wellborn at Open Book are asking for a show of hands - How many either played, sung, or heard the Schutte "Here I Am, Lord" this past weekend (II Ordinary Time)?
My hands are down. However, I did use the "Here AM I, Lord" Psalm setting that appears in the readings section of Worship III (Proulx antiphon, Gelineau verses) for the Responsorial Psalm.
Any hands up or down?

We skipped it. I was surprised because we normally don't do it unless it's "called for", so I don't know how we missed it this time. We did end up with "Sing a New Song" for entrance, though, so I guess that balances it out.
BTW, am I the only one who thinks the oft-mentioned Brady Bunch similarity is not really all that obvious, if you're not listening for it?

Yeah, I used it . . . it only works its way into mass about once a year and I thought this was obviously the Sunday
for it. No regrets . . . it's over and done with. Now I just have to find a Sunday to work in "City of God". (shudder)

Probably not, but alas the "bunch" that have.

We don't sing that stuff anymore.
Me neither. ;) I haven't touched that stuff in about 18 years, unless someone asks for it for a funeral. Otherwise, I try to avoid it at all costs.

If you get stuck and have no choice about getting out of "Here I Am", (and I'm deadly serious here), use the accompaniment out of "Glory and Praise, vol. 3" (the yellow one with the flying bird on the cover). It's actually tolerable from an organist's p.o.v. The accompaniment is varied for each verse (there's a groovy 8th-note pedal run in verse 2). Not bad, all things considered.

We did not sing it. Neither did we sing "Speak Lord, I'm listening" of G&P fame. If I'm forced to play Here I am, or if it's playing can not be avoided, I always improvise an extended chorale prelude beforehand, in which the Brady Bunch Theme is featured prominantly: trumpet 8' for the cantus, princ. 8 & 4 for the accomp. A good second cantus for that improv is the Jeopardy theme...done that too.
