Is that Lubeck Preludium the one with the fugue theme which is a bunch of repeated 1/8 notes? If so, I love that one! I just generally love early German baroque music as it is :P
And I'm actually doing Aus Tiefer Not (by Luther) for my anthem that day. It's nice to match the antiphon!
Also, "Softly and Tenderly" is in Ritual Song. I remember at my second job having that come up a lot when the music director would cantor - he was an old protestant and would always sing it in a hilarious cheesy bass voice: "sooooftly and tenderly JEEESUS is calling"
Gavin,
Yes, that is the same praeludium, however I will not be playing the fugue this week. (The 6/8 section still is not ready).
Paul Manz has a gorgeous English Psalm 130 that I may add to the repertoire next season. The Gluck is beautiful (found it on the CPDL), but it's always nice to expand the repertoire.
I know EXACTLY what you are talking about in regards to Softly and Tenderly, LOL.
