The recessional for this day actually is more based on the Communion in the Gregorian Missal, which translates, I will tell all your wondrous deeds... The Communion we are using comes from the second volume of the two-volume Songs of Israel collection by Alexander Peloquin. Easy four-part antiphon, gorgeous key change into the verses. Truly a beautiful piece.

I always thought that 'Now Thank We All Our God' should be sung around Thanksgiving. Much better than 'Let there be peace on Earth.'
"Now thank we" is good almost anytime (in Ordinary Time anyways) for a recessional, especially Thanksgiving.
And yes, far better than "Let there be peas and carrots", I agree.

Ugh, that's what's on the menu for next Sunday at my parish.
I pity you. Seriously.
I actually remarked at one point or another that between "Let there be peace" and "Make me a channel", that "Make me a channel" is far better (melody tolerable, rather simple, but at least the prayer is one from none other than St. Francis of Assisi, thus making "Make me a channel" the far lesser of the two evils).
See if you can talk them into "Make me a channel" - if you can. Good luck.
