CHRISTUS VINCIT SPORTS

More on the Girls' Softball Front

Brittany's in a new tournament - this time the states!

FRIDAY 7/6: Tonight, the Darlington Girls' 9/10-year-olds gave the Coventry Blue Team a smokeshow, winning 17-7. Brittany drove in AT LEAST eight of those runs, finding a gap for nearly every line drive she smashed! We scored 5 runs each in the 3rd and 4th innings, 4 in the 6th, and 3 in the 7th. Coventry Blue scored 6 runs in the 3rd and one more in the 6th.

Our girls play their first game of the day tomorrow at 11:30 AM. I can guarantee that at least one game (possibly the 11:30 game) will be vs. the Cranston A Team - the team that smoked us 12-0 last week.

GO BRITT!!!

SATURDAY 7/7: Not a very good day for the team. First of all, due to rain, some of today's brackets got moved, including ours. Our 11:30 AM game was moved to 1 PM, and no one knew till they got to Coventry, which is a good 45 minute from our city. To boot, the game before ours went took 11 innings to decide, so our 11:30 AM game, which was moved to 1 PM, finally started at about 2:20 PM. We landed up getting smoked (or as my wife Ann said, "we got parlayed!") by that pesky Cranston team 23-0, and again by St. Gregory's 10-2.

We're now eliminated from this tourney. We have one tourney left next week. Despite conditions, I think our girls still did us proud.

Peace,
BMP
