...was celebrated in a world-class liturgy. I encourage you to catch the video clips here. Cardinal DiNardo really says Mass with class.
High points:
The deacon proclaimed the Gospel reading in Latin.
Cardinal DiNardo used abundant chalices - REAL chalices, not glass pitchers.
The music on the most part had a Vatican feel to it. Excellent!
Low points:
I've watched at least half of the clips on Channel 13, and I didn't find any low points at all.
The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston has a lot to be proud of. I can't marvel enough!
Peace,

Is it just me, or does the Cathedral actually look like a Church?
Iowa's loss is definitely Texas' gain!
I loved the report. The Mass looked wonderful from the clips. I laughed out loud at the female TV commentator who asked "any reason why the Gospel is in Latin?" I can picture a liturgista asking that very thing, and getting ready to fart back some tripe like "the poor people in their ignorance can't fully partissssssipate". The other commentator answers, "To show the universality of the Church. Latin is still the official language of the Church." ZING! And you heard the congregation's Latin responses? Astounding! Did we actually see documented proof of "full, conscious, blah blah" in the United States where Latin was used? Excellent! This gives proof that the congregation aren't as stupid as some close-minded liturgo-nazis want to have us believe (We knew that all along).
The only thing I didn't much care for in the cathedral was the baptismal swimming pool in the crossing. Other than that, all was pretty groovy. We always love to see the Knights of Columbus in their feathery hats too. Nice.

That was Abp. Foley commenting, mentioning that Latin is the official language of the Church. He really seems to get it.
I'll say this much: Cdl. DiNardo gets it. :)

Woo! The restoration continues apace! Deo gratias.
That was Cardinal Foley. He was elevated, along with Cardinal DiNardo, at the last consistory.
Thanks JTM. Didn't know till just now.
