It was a pleasure to meet BMP and hear this music on Saturday afternoon. It was all well-played. Brian spent a few minutes before the Mass on "In Babilone", which I particularly liked.

For an exception, I can't give much of an endorsement to the text of "For the healing of the nations". It's a bunch of phrases about Peace and Justice, strung together and imposed on the "St. Thomas" tune of Tantum Ergo by Fred Kaan around 1968, which should tell you something right there.

Brian presumably placed this piece on the program with Labor Day in mind, but the decision must have been influenced by some hanky-panky from that cranky pancreas of his. Somehow it just doesn't seem right and reverent to set other texts to this Tantum Ergo tune, it's become so much a part of the liturgy.

It was a pleasure meeting Rich as well.

As for "For the healing", I was short on a hymn and regrettably used THIS source to get the hymn.

It somehow referenced the first reading and gospel with the hymn (thus the "1,G" in parentheses).

Peace,
