Fr. Heterodox is likely to ad lib or make something up. You think nine Eucharistic Prayer options would be enough already. Sheesh! At least in 1962 there was only ONE.
He’s also likely to want to keep the Mass short and/or to have been persuaded by a teacher that EP1 is important only for historical reasons, it’s imprudent for modern congregations, or what not.
I think EP1 should at least be compulsory on Sundays. That’s how it was supposed to be, as I understand things; I know EP2 on Sundays is a tsk-tsk affair.
True - EP1 should be an every Sunday thing. But usually Fr. Heterodox would be that priest who wants to keep the music short so he can make up for lost time for his 20-plus-minute homily, at which he talks a lot, but says absolutely nothing.

You’re forgetting that Fr. Heterodox won’t go near Eucharistic Prayer I.
