Many have blogged on the now-infamous Fr. Jan Larson, who, in the Inland Register (Spokane's Diocesan Newspaper), criticized the Mass as regularly televised on EWTN. I had been trying to gather thoughts on him without uttering words of the vulgar variety, which explains partially (besides being busier than a one-legged monkey in a butt-kicking contest) why I haven't posted on him yet.
Instead, I'll just refer you to Gerald, who has this post (with sources) about Fr. Larson's credibility (or lack thereof), as well as the credibility of the archbishop who ordained him.

Thanks, Brian, for this post. As you know, there have been occasions where I harbored some reservations about the EWTN conventual Mass; thankfully, I've grown up a bit. I can only wish the priest-author in Spokane the same evolution of perspective (tho' not likely to happen.)
After completing my musical duties at Mass yesterday I gave a brief presentation to RCIA initiates inwhich I presented them with a pre-knowledge quiz. One of those questions was: TRUE FALSE Christians can bring about "Christian unity." Many immediately checked off "True." The correct answer was, of course, only Christ can bring about "Christian unity." I believe that Christ is often the greatest factor missing from "the picture" when people criticize and argue about how "effective" our religious and worship practices "are." That is certainly the case with this circumstance. But, having observed the televised Mass quite regularly through the years, I suspect that those folks down in Irondale keep their hearts, eyes and minds firmly fixed upon the object at the center of the vertical and horizontal beams of the Cross; and don't much get bothered by what the Fr. Jan Larson's of the world make of it.

As one poncho lady said after her first "Mass" in a Methodist church yesterday, "I felt so lifted up."
