Not related to the above impressive summertime music list: Does anyone out there know about the recent "contemporary" adaptation of Fulda melody, "O sacrament most holy"? I knew it from the "old" Benzinger Catholic Hymnal, but was recently (relatively) surprised to see those melodic & rhythmic alterations that appear to have been made for more recent publications. I would assume that this is like "At that first Eucharist"'s tune (Unde et memores), which suffered from a similar "improvement." Anybody out there, please correct me if my assumption about the fate of Fulda is wrong, or needing adjustment.

I'll be honest - I've never heard of any such musical alterations for FULDA MELODY. I know the tune itself, and the accompanying "O Sacrament Most Holy" text. Could you be a little more specific?

OK. Last line of refrain in key of F, "All praise & all thanksgiving" : In Benziger (I misspelled earlier) it reads C-F-A-G-F-D'(higher octave)---C'; in Paluch & OCP it's C-F-A-G-F-Bb---A. That's the main difference. I can't believe that someone would change the first to the second (I'm sure someone could "fix" the Star-Spangled Banner to make it more convenient for singing- right at "And the rocket's red glare"), but that's what appears to have happened. There are about 2 other minor rhythmic & melodic discrepancies, but I won't mention them here. Anyway, I had thought the Benziger was correct.

I always learned the second way (Bb-A, instead of D-C). Liturgical Press also uses Bb-A (well, key of G instead of F, so it would be C-B).
