ETENIM REGNAT DOMINUS DEUS

Jeffrey Tucker has posted a true classic on the Musica Sacra forums:
Hallelujah! from Handel's Messiah - in LATIN! (pdf)

Enjoy!

Pretty swank. I suppose if you wanted to sing this as a recessional for the E.F. it may be useful. Otherwise, it's somewhat a musical oddity to have this in Latin. Sorta like those English language opera translations. But hey, if Mozart can make a German version of Messiah with a new orchestration, I suppose the Ancient Romans need their version too. LOL! What we really need is for some daring fellow to compose a 12-tone opera in polish about the life of John Paul II. Something like Berg's Lulu, or even an extended song cycle like Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire.

Oh, and the premiere should be in one of those mod German churches that's all concrete, steel and glass. (Similar to the Hand Organ church)
