RED SOX 7, YANKEES 3

Sounds like really good numbers to me! And pardon me while I interject:

WELCOME BACK, DOUG MIRABELLI!!!

For those who don't know - Doug Mirabelli was knuckleballer Tim Wakefield's "personal catcher" for the past few seasons. Sox brass traded him in the offseason to the Padres for Mark Loretta, but Mirabelli was traded back to Boston (for Josh Bard, who leads the league, I think, in passed balls, and Cla Merideth, a really good prospective pitcher) just in time for the Yankees game.

Mirabelli went 0-4 hitting, but the big relief: NO PASSED BALLS! In fact, Douggie even caught a guy stealing! And Wake's game? A no-decision, but he didn't do bad at all!

Hopefully Josh Beckett will show the side he showed in his first couple of games in tonight's game (if the rain doesn't prevent it).

Peace,
BMP

This is just a temporary set-back due to a lousy bullpen. The Yankees will be back.

Our bullpen's not so hot either I fear. I'm not impressed at all with Seanez or Tavarez. Foulke's starting to come around, but Papelbon's gotten so good as a closer that, hey - if it ain't broken, don't fix it! Not many closers can outpitch Mariano Rivera! ;)

Huh, I don't trust anyone in the NY bullpen outside of Mariano. Too bad he can't pitch in EVERY game.
