MARCH FEASTS MOVED FOR 2008

In light of Holy Week/Easter being so early this year that certain feasts in March fall within those weeks, the feasts in question will be moved for this year:

Solemnity: Saint Joseph Husband of Mary
Normal date: March 19
This year: March 19 is Spy Wednesday
Transferred date for 2008: March 15

Solemnity: The Annunciation of Our Lord Jesus Christ
Normal date: March 25
This year: March 25 is the Tuesday in the Octave of Easter
Transferred date for 2008: March 31, the day after Divine Mercy/Low/Quasimodo Sunday

The above two feasts are moved per order of the Vatican.

Now, I don't know about other dioceses, but the Diocese of Providence and the Archdiocese of Hartford have agreed to this move:

Memorial: Saint Patrick
Normal date: March 17
This year: March 17 is the Monday of Holy Week
Transferred date for 2008: March 14
The bishops are prepared to give a dispensation (as this is a Lenten Friday - normally no meat) to those who celebrate the memorial on March 14.

Our Ordo just suppresses St. Patrick this year, even though it's the patronal feast day of 2 dioceses in the province of PA. Although our Chrism Mass is being celebrated that day, and the Bishop will formally close the centennial celebrations as part of CM.
