Gone With The Wind

On her blog, As We Wait In Joyful Hope, Paula she mentioned watching Gone With Wind recently, and I had commented that my favorite spoof of that movie is the one presented on the Carol Burnett Show. The best scene: scarlet in the curtain dress. Here's the video of Part II of GWTW as spoofed by Carol et al. Dinah "Mmmmmmwah" Shore plays Mellie. Great stuff:

I love that show. Why, oh why, are there no shows like it today?

That was a classic! I watched it when it originally aired (showing my age, again!)

Funniest part "Look away" look away?

I used to love this show when I was a kid! My mom used to let me stay up and watch it.

"Went With the Wind" is a classic, like so many of the sketches done on this show. Great actors (even when serving ham), great writing, & nothing to be embarrassed about while watching.

Sonny & Cher did a funny spoof also. Scarlett (Cher) wanted a small artificial lake. & Rhett (Sonny) came back with a line I still use: "Frankly my dear, I don't give a reservoir!"
