Not to toot my own horn, but....

All AGO members will find a familiar name and face on the bottom left corner of page 70 in the April issue of The American Organist.

Actually Nick, your name is listed in two places in TAO. I see you're going to the AGO Convention in Chicago in July. There are at least 3 people that I know of from this area (two affiliated with Duke) who are going as well. Sounds like it'll be fun.

Yup that's me as well. And if you look in the March issue, you will see the advertisement of the recital I did 2 weeks ago in the CALENDAR section, under Pennsylvania. Those aren't all the names of attendees, either. It's just those of us who got our registration completed in time for the early bird discount. :-) Conventions are fun!

Yeah, I've been to a few conventions (related to Chemistry/Pharmacology/Cell Biology though). They are, indeed, fun, and it's great to meet and network with people. It's too bad that a convention that I go to every year conflicts with that of the AGO convention, otherwise I might have considered going.

Plus, what I've learned from my boss/colleague whose "been in church music longer than [I've] been alive," is that if something is happening at the convention that doesn't interest you (no good workshops, plenary sessions, etc), there's usually a bar close by. :-)
