Hat tip to Gerald Augustinus!
Watch this video. Either this priest had way too many beers or something. This procession is downright horrible. He looks like a total idiot!
UPDATE 3/4/06: The church in question is getting a new pastor. Hopefully this one has more class!
Peace,

Oh, goody: more liturgical dance.
By the bye, thanks for linking to my weblog. May I do the same for you?
Absolutely Bernard.

That is just about as irreverernt as it gets....and that torch-bearer! I was waiting for him to start inserting it up his....urg...the way he was gyrating with that..downright lewd...I also felt sorry for banner swinger #1's heels..those things were screaming...
It looked like what I would invision as a procession in hell.

This is St. Nicholas in Evanston, IL (north 'burbs of Chicago). Their Director of Music and Liturgy is Tony Alonzo of OCP fame.....

Ew. I don't like being so close to such things.
(A friend of my mother's used to live in Evanston and attend St. Nick's. I'll bet she'd throw up if she saw this.)
BTW, I took a look at the new pastor's former Church, St. FdS in Lake Zurich.
Uh, yeah, I'm thinking St. Nick's won't be improving any time soon.
I'm forwarding this video to the Cardinal. Should I also forward to CDW?
I would most definitely forward that video to the Cardinal, and to the CDW. It's a total outrage.
As for their music director (and his associated publisher), that might explain some things as well.
Peace,

wow...I live in Rochester, NY and I haven't seen anything that bad. Go to the main video page and watch the baptism, it's a bit like the opening scene from the Lion King...
I saw the baptism one too. I was waiting for the baby to drop something, if you know what I mean. LMAO!

Oh ... my ... YIKES! Almost reminds me of an Episcopal Happy Clappy Holy Roller "church" I've heard of in California - St. Gregory of Nyssa, IIRC.
Can we insert BMP's "EEEEEEWWW!" sound bite right here? It so fits.
This is all too close to my home! I read about the new pastor's background... sounds like it may be a slight improvment... slight... He also prefers to be called Ron. You can read about him here:

God bless you abundantly!
